Frequently Asked Questions

Prior to Mom/Dad moving into our Community, we will conduct a financial review
to determine if the level of private resources are limited such that alternative payment plans or sources, including negotiated private rates and/or conversion
to a Medicaid reimbursement program, need to be considered. We will commit
to a financial plan that works for all parties and so that there are no future
surprises.

We tailor daily activities for the residents based upon their individual needs and abilities.

We have nursing staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a licensed nurse 40 hours per week and on call in case of emergency.

If mom is unable to travel to a doctor’s office, we have a physician who comes to the facility once a week.

The Cottage design and our round the clock staffing enable us to closely monitor our residents at all times. Each Cottage main door exits into a secured interior courtyard and our round the clock staff are alerted to a resident leaving the Cottage by the alarm systems on the exit doors.

Yes, all residents of our specialized dementia care communities must have a diagnosis of Alzheimers or dementia to live with us.

Testimonials

Reese family

Since Mom’s diagnosis with dementia in 2006, it has been our honor to care for her at her apartment in Bellevue. Unfortunately her needs have reached a point where 24/7 care, physical security and social support are essential. We are thrilled that we seem to have found an ideal memory care community for Mom. The Cottages is a cluster of four group homes, with up to 10 residents each, and 24 hour awake staff. The staff has deep professional experience with memory care, and is dedicated to knowing and serving the individualized, immediate needs of each resident.

Mom moved into The Cottages last Friday, July 24th, and so far has adjusted beautifully. She is smiling and laughing constantly, and eating and sleeping well. She seems to feel secure and is enjoying the availability of 24/7 social stimulation as desired.

Visitors are welcome. Mom may not recall names and relationship details, but she loves seeing familiar and loving faces. Mom has a private room with a bed and two guest chairs (one of which is kept in her closet). There is also space for visiting in the living room / dining room area, on an attached fenced patio, and outside the cottage, on an open patio with a table and chairs.
