Testimonials
We just wanted to pass along our compliments to another of your fine employees, Khadija, who was covering the floor needs of the memory care facility yesterday when we came to take our dearest Ruthie to her annual medical exam.
I had visited Ruth two days prior to remind her of our appointment, but she had completely forgotten by the time we arrived. Ruth was absolutely adamant that she had no intention of seeing her doctor, and she would address the appointment at a later date.
While her refusal was of no great surprise, if we went along with her behavior, we would not be working in her best interests. With the appointment time rapidly approaching, we enlisted Khadija to see if she could possibly budge Ruth.
Khadija’s immediately went to work, using her negotiating skills, cajoling, deflecting, and compartmentalizing the steps necessary to get movement from Ruth. Ruth was more deeply dug in than we have ever seen, being brutally rude, preaching with a sailor’s tongue, and downright angry with all of us present. She was especially hurtful to Joan, who is Ruth’s alternate DPOA, but that is the nature of Ruth’s disease progression.
But little by little, with Khadija’s persistence, we were able to get Ruth dressed and out the door, and with only a few other minor refusals along the way, were able to get Ruth to her doctor, where she had a very successful visit.
We absolutely could have not succeeded without the skills of Khadija, and we want to pass on our gratefulness here. She is an outstanding team member! She is a great asset in assisting us with this most difficult chapter.
We have thanked her in person, but you might also want to mention to her that you heard a good story about her. You have a great team.
– Our best to all, Glen Moore and Joan Weiser
