Cottage Lane at Vineyard Park Surprise
Vineyard Park of Surprise does more than care for your family member’s basic needs. We provide our residents with amenities designed for their comfort. Cottage Lane memory care incorporates a comprehensive, meaningful life engagement program that aims to lower anxiety, decrease frustration, and increase feelings of independence, fostering a sense of purpose.
All of our professional staff, nursing personnel, and Resident Care Team receive proprietary training in Alzheimer’s and dementia-related care.
About Our Staff
We select staff who are dedicated to serving seniors. Our community is filled with well-trained and big-hearted individuals who truly want to help people. Our approach provides the ideal solution for seniors who need some help with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing and medication. We focus on wellness and keeping residents active.
Care Options
We provide opportunities for residents to engage in the specific recreational activities they enjoy, including dominoes, checkers, card games, art, and musical memories. According to the 2019 Alzheimer’s Facts and Figures, studies suggest that remaining socially active throughout life may support brain health and possibly reduce the risk of Altzheimer’s and other dementias. Our trained and certified staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and led by full-time, licensed nurses. Our staff receives constant supervision from our physician partners who also perform routine resident visits. Vineyard Park has equipped each residence with a state-of-the-art emergency call system.

Testimonials
We just wanted to pass along our compliments to another of your fine employees, Khadija, who was covering the floor needs of the memory care facility yesterday when we came to take our dearest Ruthie to her annual medical exam.
I had visited Ruth two days prior to remind her of our appointment, but she had completely forgotten by the time we arrived. Ruth was absolutely adamant that she had no intention of seeing her doctor, and she would address the appointment at a later date.
While her refusal was of no great surprise, if we went along with her behavior, we would not be working in her best interests. With the appointment time rapidly approaching, we enlisted Khadija to see if she could possibly budge Ruth.
Khadija’s immediately went to work, using her negotiating skills, cajoling, deflecting, and compartmentalizing the steps necessary to get movement from Ruth. Ruth was more deeply dug in than we have ever seen, being brutally rude, preaching with a sailor’s tongue, and downright angry with all of us present. She was especially hurtful to Joan, who is Ruth’s alternate DPOA, but that is the nature of Ruth’s disease progression.
But little by little, with Khadija’s persistence, we were able to get Ruth dressed and out the door, and with only a few other minor refusals along the way, were able to get Ruth to her doctor, where she had a very successful visit.
We absolutely could have not succeeded without the skills of Khadija, and we want to pass on our gratefulness here. She is an outstanding team member! She is a great asset in assisting us with this most difficult chapter.
We have thanked her in person, but you might also want to mention to her that you heard a good story about her. You have a great team.
– Our best to all, Glen Moore and Joan Weiser
